Progress explained¶
Progress analyses all sessions of one discipline; choose it at the top right. Everything is computed from the sessions in your log, nothing is estimated.

Points per shot¶
Sessions differ in length: a 50-shot match, two series after work, a 40-shot competition. Targetlog compares them by points per shot, the total divided by the number of shots. 9.30 per shot is 465 over 50 shots.
Key figures¶
- Last 30 days
- points per shot over all sessions of the last 30 days. The arrow shows the change against the 30 days before.
- Personal best
- the highest total among sessions with the standard number of shots of the discipline, e.g. 60 for air pistol. Tap it to open the session.
- Sessions
- number of sessions and shots logged in this discipline.
- Competition vs. training
- points per shot in competitions minus points per shot in training. A negative number means you lose points under pressure.
Trend¶
Every session is a dot, competitions in amber. The line is the moving average of the last five sessions, so a single bad day does not hide the direction. A dashed line shows your goal.
Goal¶
Set the total you want to reach over the standard number of shots, optionally with a date. The bar compares it with your last 30 days and tells you how much is missing per shot.
Series curve¶
Points per shot of the first, second, third … series over all sessions. It shows whether you need a series to warm up, or lose concentration towards the end. The strongest series is highlighted.
Shot values¶
How often each value occurred, from the sessions where you logged every shot or tapped the hits. Decimal values count towards their whole number, so 9.7 counts as a 9.
Group¶
From the hits you tapped on the target in your last ten sessions with hits:
- Group size is twice the average distance of your hits from their centre, in mm. It is a robust measure of how tight you shoot.
- Off centre is the distance of that centre from the middle of the target.
- If the centre sits clearly to one side, Targetlog tells you which way to adjust the sight. Check your hold and trigger first.

Weapons compared¶
As soon as sessions of a discipline were shot with at least two of your weapons, a table compares them: the points per shot of all their sessions, of the last 30 days and the best total over the full match. The weapon with the highest average is on top. Sessions without a weapon are not part of it.

Tap a weapon, or choose it in the weapon list at the top, and every figure on the page (key figures, trend, series curve, shot values and group) only counts the sessions shot with it. All weapons shows everything again.
What your tags tell you¶
For every tag used on at least two sessions: the points per shot of those sessions and the difference to your overall average. Sorted from the best to the worst, this is where you find out whether the new grip pays off.
